The South Pole

The South Pole expedition was called the M&G ISA Challenge. It comprised only five women, all of whom had been members of the North Pole relay. This time they had no professional guides to help them and together they planned and trained for the expedition for nearly two years.

Again, Caroline was the leader and driving force. Teamwork was the key to the women's success and they had to keep spirits high - even when funding looked bleak and time was against them through the final months of preparation. At the same time, Caroline continued with her full time job as a television and film financier.
